This guide explains how to create your account, set up your passkey, verify your email address, and understand what to do if something does not work during onboarding.
🐎 Before you start
To create a Gnosis App account, you need:
access to the official Gnosis App at app.gnosis.io
a device or password manager that supports passkeys
an email address you can access
a username that is not already taken
Gnosis App currently supports personal accounts for individual users. Business accounts, company accounts, organization accounts, and joint accounts are not currently supported.
❓ How Gnosis App works
Gnosis App is built around self-custody. This means you stay in control of your funds and wallet credentials. The wallet infrastructure is powered by Safe smart accounts, and most transactions are processed on Gnosis Chain, which is designed for fast confirmations, low network fees, and native gas payments using xDAI.
Gnosis App is also a Progressive Web App, or PWA. This means you can use it through a browser while still getting an app-like experience on mobile or desktop.
🦉 Create your Gnosis App account
To get started:
Go to app.gnosis.io.
Select Join.
Create a passkey when prompted.
Select Continue.
Choose your username.
Enter your email address.
Open the verification email.
Copy the verification code.
Paste or type the code into Gnosis App.
Once the code is accepted, your Gnosis App account is open.
🔒 Set up your passkey carefully
Gnosis App uses passkeys instead of a traditional password.
Your passkey is used to access your account and authorize transactions from your wallet. During onboarding, you can store your passkey in a password manager such as Apple Passwords or Google Password Manager.
Keep access to your passkey safe. If you lose access to the device or password manager that stores your passkey, you may lose access to your Gnosis App account and wallet.
📛 Choose your username
During onboarding, you will create your Gnosis App profile by choosing a username.
Your username is unique. If another Gnosis App user already has the username you want, you will need to choose a different one.
✉️ Verify your email address
Gnosis App sends a verification code to the email address you enter during onboarding. Copy the code from the email and paste or type it into Gnosis App. Once your email is verified, your account setup should be complete.
If you do not receive the email, check that you entered the correct address and look in your spam or junk folder.
🔓 Unlock more features
After creating your account, some Gnosis App features may require identity verification. For example, unlocking card or IBAN features may require you to follow the in-app identity verification flow. Once verification is complete, the features available to your account will appear in Gnosis App.
Availability can depend on your region, account status, and provider requirements.
Use Gnosis App on another device
You can access your Gnosis App account from another device if your passkey is available there. A password manager that syncs passkeys across devices can make this easier. You can also add an Externally Owned Account, or EOA, as an owner of your Gnosis App wallet from the Wallet Owner section in Settings. That EOA can then be used to import your Gnosis App wallet on a new device and create a new passkey through the Import Wallet flow.
🧭 Common onboarding issues
I cannot create a passkey
Your device, browser, or password manager may not support passkeys, or passkeys may not be enabled correctly.
Try using a supported browser and make sure your password manager is available during sign-up.
My username is not available
Usernames are unique in Gnosis App. If your preferred username is already taken, choose another one.
I did not receive the verification email
Check that the email address is correct, then check your spam or junk folder. If the app allows you to resend the code, request a new verification email and use the newest code.
My verification code does not work
The code may be incorrect or expired. Copy the latest code from the newest verification email and try again.
I see “No wallet found for this passkey”
This usually means the passkey you are using is not connected to your Gnosis App wallet. Common causes include using the wrong password manager, deleting the original passkey, resetting your device, or switching to a new device without access to the original passkey.
If you added an email address during sign-up, you may be able to start the account recovery flow by selecting Trouble logging in and following the instructions.
❗ Important security notes
Gnosis App will never need your seed phrase, wallet recovery phrase, full card number, PIN, or card security code to help you with onboarding. Only use the official Gnosis App website. Before sending funds, always confirm that the asset and network are supported. Sending funds to the wrong network or using an unsupported asset may result in loss of funds.
