Just like the cash in your wallet comes from many people, your Circles balances is made up of CRC issued by different users. You'll only ever hold CRC from people you trust.
Users who qualify as Backers or Indirect Backers can swap CRC on Gnosis.
Currently, CRC can be exchanged for supported assets (USDC, xDAI, EURe, GBPe, GNO). However, it is important to understand that not all CRC held in your wallet may be immediately tradable.
Why Can't I Trade All of My CRC?
The amount of CRC you can trade depends on several factors related to the CRC you currently hold and your position within the network.
The tradable portion of your balance is calculated automatically and displayed within the Gnosis App.
What Determines Whether My CRC Is Tradable?
1. The Composition of Your CRC Holdings
CRC tokens can originate from different individuals within the network.
As a result, the tradability of your balance depends on:
Who originally created the CRC you currently hold.
How those CRC entered your wallet.
Whether a valid swap route exists for those specific tokens.
Different CRC holdings may therefore have different levels of tradability.
2. Your Trust Relationships
Tradability is influenced by the trust connections between participants in the network.
In particular, it depends on whether:
You are directly connected to the CRC issuer.
You are indirectly connected through trusted intermediaries.
The issuer is considered a Backer or Indirect Backer within your trust network.
Stronger and broader trust connections generally improve the likelihood that CRC can be traded.
3. Availability of a Valid Return Path
For a swap to be possible, the system must be able to identify a valid path through the network that connects the CRC you hold back to your own tokens. If no suitable path exists, some or all of your CRC may not be tradable, even if you hold a significant balance.
4. Available Network Liquidity
Tradability also depends on liquidity available across the network at the time of the swap. Even when a valid trading path exists, insufficient liquidity may limit the amount of CRC that can be exchanged.
How Groups affect my CRC tradeability
Your selected Group can affect how tradability is calculated. The Group setting influences which trust relationships and network paths are considered when determining whether your CRC can be swapped.
How Can I Increase the Amount of CRC I Can Trade?
If only a small portion of your CRC is currently tradable, consider the following:
Build stronger trust connections within the network.
Expand your network of trusted participants.
Increase your activity and engagement within the ecosystem.
Accumulate a more diversified balance of CRC.
Users with smaller balances that consist primarily of CRC issued by other participants may benefit most from strengthening their network connections and trust relationships.
Where Can I see my tradable Balance?
Your currently tradable CRC balance is displayed directly within Gnosis App.
