When you shop online with your Gnosis Card, an extra layer of security called 3D Secure (also known as Visa Secure or 3DS) helps protect you from fraud. This standard verification step for online payments ensures itâs really you making the purchase by verifying your identity when the card isnât physically present. Think of it as a digital PIN for your online transactions required by Visa and international regulations to add security and confidence when paying online.
When making a purchase on a website that supports 3D Secure, youâll enter your card details as usual, then a secure verification pop-up will appear. A one-time passcode (OTP) will be sent via SMS to your registered phone number, which youâll need to enter to approve the payment before the transaction is completed. If you donât receive the OTP, check your mobile signal, use the âResend Codeâ option if available, and confirm your phone number is up to date in your Gnosis App account. If your payment is declined after entering the code, the OTP may have expired, been entered incorrectly, or your card may be frozen in the app. Retry the payment carefully, check your card status, and contact support if the issue continues.
Warning : If you ever see a transaction you donât recognise, immediately freeze your card in the Gnosis App and contact the support.
