Summary
gCRC is the default currency used throughout the app. It is used for marketplace purchases, community rewards, and all other in-app activities. All new users automatically join the Gnosis network and begin with gCRC as their primary currency.
The amount of gCRC you can mint is determined by your Reputation. As your Reputation grows, your minting capacity may increase accordingly.
gCRC serves as:

Its introduction marks a transition away from rigid affiliate-group structures toward:

❓ What is gCRC?
gCRC is the default currency used for community participation and membership contributions in Gnosis App. It acts as the foundational economic layer connecting users and communities, enabling users to support Communities directly through ongoing contribution flows rather than one-time payments.
In the initial rollout of the new group system, all membership fees will be denominated exclusively in gCRC.
👛 Core Purpose of gCRC
gCRC is designed to support:
sustainable community funding,
aligned incentive structures,
and long-term participation within the Circlers ecosystem
Instead of requiring users to manually pay recurring subscriptions, Communities can receive an automatically allocated percentage of a user’s newly generated gCRC.
This generates:
continuous support for communities,
predictable contribution flows for members,
Stronger alignment between users and the communities they participate in.
🧞 Generation & Allocation
Users generate gCRC through the protocol’s issuance mechanism.
When joining a group with a membership fee:
a percentage of the user’s newly generated gCRC is automatically allocated to that group.
Example:
If a group charges a 5% membership fee,
then 5% of the user’s generated gCRC flows to the group.
The remaining gCRC remains under the user’s control.
🚀 Beyond gCRC and roadmap
Future versions of the ecosystem may support:
additional community currencies,
alternative membership assets,
and Community-specific payment requirements.
At that stage:
some Communities may request membership fees in currencies other than gCRC.
This introduces additional complexity around:
currency selection,
payment flows,
and user experience.
These mechanics are expected to evolve during later phases of the roadmap.
