Getting started with Rep Score

Learn all you need to know about the newly implemented Rep Score.

Rep Score is a reputation signal in Gnosis App. It helps determine how much of your newly minted CRC can become spendable gCRC. A higher Rep Score means more of your newly minted CRC can become gCRC.

Rep Score is based on trust, account signals, and healthy participation in the Circles ecosystem. It is not based on simply holding, buying, or receiving gCRC.

What Rep Score does ?

Rep Score affects how newly minted CRC is treated.

When you mint CRC, your Rep Score helps determine how much of that newly minted CRC can become spendable gCRC.

For example:

  • Rep Score 0 means newly minted CRC does not become spendable gCRC.

  • Rep Score 50 means around 50% of newly minted CRC become gCRC.

  • Rep Score 100 means newly minted CRC become 100% gCRC.

Rep Score does not automatically convert old CRC balances into gCRC. It applies to newly minted CRC according to the current Gnosis App rules.

What Rep Score is based on ?

Rep Score is designed to reflect trust and meaningful participation.

Signals that may matter include:

  • Gnosis group membership

  • mutual connections with trusted users

  • KYC-related signals, where available

  • Backer status

  • healthy participation in the Circles ecosystem

  • avoiding harmful, artificial, or abusive behavior

Rep Score is not meant to reward short-term farming or passive balance holding.

Holding gCRC does not increase Rep Score !

Simply holding gCRC does not increase your Rep Score.

This also means your score does not go up just because:

  • you hold more gCRC

  • you buy gCRC

  • you receive gCRC rewards

  • your gCRC balance increases

  • you keep gCRC in your own wallet

The self-holding effect has been removed. Your own gCRC balance has no positive impact on your Rep Score.

Spending is neutral unless it looks harmful

Spending gCRC in the Shop does not automatically increase your Rep Score. Normal spending is generally neutral. This means it should not boost your score, but it should not hurt your score either.

Neutral activity may include:

  • using gCRC for the Shop offers

  • using gCRC for card top-ups

  • normal app usage

  • ordinary spending behavior

Card top-ups are treated as valid outflows and are not considered bad spending by default.

Only harmful, suspicious, artificial, or abusive spending behavior may reduce your Rep Score.

What can reduce Rep Score

Rep Score may be negatively affected if activity looks harmful or artificial.

This can include:

  • suspicious circular transfers

  • automated or bot-like behavior

  • attempts to manipulate reputation

  • attempts to farm rewards

  • activity designed mainly to extract value

  • behavior that does not look like genuine ecosystem use

Normal use of Gnosis App should not be treated as harmful by default.

How fast Rep Score updates ?

Rep Score now updates much faster than before.

In many cases, changes can appear after roughly a couple of blocks. This means updates such as Backer status or KYC-related boosts may show up quickly once processed. Some parts of the update process may still be finalized, so timing can still vary slightly.

Why your Rep Score may be 0 ?

Your Rep Score may show 0 if your account does not currently meet the required trust or membership conditions.

A common reason is that your account is not part of the Gnosis group. Accounts outside the Gnosis group have a Rep Score of 0.

Your score may also be 0 if your account is new, has limited trust signals, or has activity that does not yet support a positive reputation score.

How to improve your Rep Score ?

You may improve your Rep Score by building stronger trust and participation signals over time.

Helpful actions may include:

  • becoming part of the Gnosis group

  • building mutual connections with trusted users

  • completing available KYC or verification steps

  • becoming a Backer, where available

  • participating in the ecosystem in a genuine way

  • avoiding artificial, abusive, or reward-farming behavior

Holding, buying, or receiving gCRC alone will not improve your Rep Score.
